Die Gründund unseres Vereins am 28.11.1984 geht auf die Initiative von Bürgermeister Paul Kreutzer und Universitätsprofessor Prof.Dr. Jörg Hasler zurück.
Der erste Vorsitzende war Professor Dr.Düwell,der heute noch Ehrenvorsitzender des Vereines ist und uns nach wie vor mit kompetentem Rat und Tat zur Seite steht.
Der eigentliche Zweck der Gründung war es,die Verbindung der Stadt Trier und Region Trier zu den USA zu vertiefen.
Viele Menschen haben in den letzten Jahren bis heute diesen Verein geführt,gestützt und begleitet.
Grossen Einfluss hatte dabei die 1 .Vorsitzende ab 1995 ,die Amerikanerin Betty Dorsey,die es unter anderem geschafft hat einige Amerikaner in den Vorstand zu bringen.
Der neue Vorstand seit 2006 hat es sich zur Aufgabe gemacht,den ursprünglichen Zweck der Gründung des Vereines wieder weiter zu entwickeln.
Geplant sind dabei unter anderem auch die Verbindung zur Airbase in Spandahlem.
Die grossen amerikanischen Feiertage wie 4.Juli,Halloween und Thanksgiving werden weiterhin traditionell mit leckerem Amerikanischen Essen geplant und ausgeführt.

This club was found 29th November 1984 by mayor Paul Kreutzer and Professor Dr. Jörg Hasler.
The first President was Professor Dr. Düwell ,who is still the honorary President today and still helps us in every way.
The purpose of this club is to conect the region of Trier with the USA and to build upa relationship.
In the last years,a lot of different people worked for and with the club and guided the club.
The american Betty Dorsey who started to be the president in 1995 had a great influence on our club,she managed for example to bring more Amercan into the club.
The new leaders of the club since 2006 have the plan to work more on this goal to conect the Region Trier with the USA or the Americans around.
One of the plans for example is to get in closer contact to the airbase in Spandahlem.
We are always celebrating the big american holidays with origional american food,the 4th of Juli,Halloween and Thanksgiving.
We are looking forward to a lot of guests for those events,please come and get to know us better.
